What I would love to see in a new Fallout is the addition of anomalies, other worldly beings, and magic and/or psychic powers for the player.

I can't believe no one has mentioned yet this is sampled Depeche Mode song called To Have And To Hold which appears on theirs album Music For The Masses. (There is also other mix of the song called To Have And To Hold (Spanish Taster) which has completely different mood). Go and listen to it now.

These Bethesda and show writers made the entire franchise too shallow.

Sounds like something you'd hear in Worms Armageddon. There's something with old 2D/isometric games' soundtracks that makes them all sound remotely similar to each other.

This soundtrack is the best representation for Fallout in my opinion. 10/10

Fallout 1 and 2 were genuinely creepy and felt like it was really the ruins of a nuked world. The bethesda fallout games and even new vegas to an extent WAAAY overdoes the 50s stuff and it ends up being campy

The Fallout Show really captured how desolate California became after the war. I’d love a game set in the Cali - Nevada - Arizona - New Mexico - Texas area again. Especially New Mexico.

Civilizations rise and fall in the blink of an eye...

0:01 You see a small village, with humans doing their routine here and there. Humble houses, a few thriving green plants. You feel safe 0:17 You look around and see... a haunting desolate void. You are still in a middle of the death-filled irradiated wasteland. You can feel the desert gusts slowly scrape the hope away. "Will this village survive?... Will I survive??"

I fell asleep listening to this and now this sounds completely distorted to me. Like it actually scares me listening to this. Im so confused.

From 2:47 to the end is the best part

The banging at 1:18 makes me imagine hearing nothing but the wind for hours, then suddenly some sign of life. Never knowing if it's hostile, but if it's out here, it probably is.

In Fallout 1, a resident of Vault 13 known as the Vault Dweller was sent into the southern California wastes to find a replacement water chip for his vault's broken one. Eventually, after discovering a new chip in another vault, the VD and the overseer of Vault 13 figure out someone is artificially creating mutants, and the overseer tasks the VD with stopping them. They eventually do, but are exiled from Vault 13. The VD takes a small group of Vault 13 dwellers with him and heads north. The most significant event in Fallout 1 happens in a town called Shady Sands. Immediately after leaving Vault 13 for the first time, the VD discovers the town, and learns of its problem with radscorpions. The VD solves the scorpion problem, and later saves the village leader's daughter, Tandi, from raiders. This is significant because Shady Sands later becomes the founding state of the New California Republic, arguably the most powerful faction. The VD also encounters the Brotherhood of Steel, a paramilitary cult currently in the Lost Hills bunker. The VD and the group of dwellers he took north eventually found the village of Arroyo in southern Oregon. The VD fathers a daughter, writes his memories, and leaves his PIP-boy and vault suit behind before disappearing (possibly to Carbon, Texas). The VD's daughter, who is now the elder of Arroyo, gives birth to the prophesied Chosen One, who, when the village begins to suffer from a drought, is sent into the wastes to find Vault 13 and recover the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK), a device capable of basically anything. The CO, after a series of wacky events, finds V13 and the GECK. However, upon returning to his village, finds it has been destroyed, all its residents either dead or captured. The CO discovers the Enclave is behind this, the remnants of the pre-war shadow government who see all wastelanders as mutated beyond saving, and plan on destroying them with a modified Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV), the same virus that creates many of the wastelands horrors, including super mutants. The CO destroys the Enclave's oil rig base with the friends he made along the way, and, with the remaining Arroyo and V13 residents, founds New Arroyo, possibly somewhere in the Bay area. The remaining Enclave scatter, some heading east, some bunkering down in their remaining safehouses, and some attempting to integrate into the NCR. By this time, the NCR is a power house in California, with its 5 founding states and plans to expand north and east with its acquisition of Vault 15 with the of the CO. Soon after the destruction of the Enclave, the BoS sends and expedition east to recover advanced technology. The expedition is lead by Senior Paladin Owen Lyons. Lyons' chapter, after disobeying an order from Lost Hills, is cut off from the rest of the Brotherhood. Lyons declares himself elder, and continues to march through Pittsburgh, destroying everything in sight while leaving a mentally unstable man behind, and eventually arrives in Washingtonian DC, where he and his chapter occupy the Pentagon. In the Pentagon (which they call the Citadel), the BoS discovered Liberty Prime, a giant commie-hating robot created by the US to fight China, even though it was never used. The BoS also assists Project Purity, an attempt to create a purifier for the Potomac River out of the Jefferson Memorial. When the project falls apart, they help smuggle the project lead James and his child, the Lone Wanderer, into Vault 101. Also around this time, the NCR and BoS come into conflict, the BoS not happy with the NCR's rapid expansion. Even though the Brotherhood has the technological advantage, they're drastically outnumbered, and are all but destroyed in California. A scribe names Elijah, displeased with the current group of elders, takes a small group east into the Vegas area, where they discover HELIOUS One, a solar power plant Elijah becomes obsessed with. The NCR continues to expand east, eventually discovering Vegas and the Hoover Dam. They cut a deal with Vegas' leader Mr. House (a pre-war business tycoon who used his vast wealth to preserve both himself and Vegas) to allow the NCR to occupy Vegas as long as Vegas gets a portion of the power from the dam. The residents of the Vegas area aren't too happy about this. In 2277, James leaves V101 to try and find a GECK to finish Project Purity, and the LW chases after them. While the LW eventually finds their father, its short lived, as one of the remaining Enclave chapters reappears, killing James and seizing Project Purity. With the help of the LW, the BoS destroys the Enclave's bases and tracks down their remaining members. Also in 2277, the NCR comes into conflict with Caesar's Legion, a tribal empire who's leader wishes to conquer Vegas. While the Legion is repealed at the Dam, the NCR and Legion enter a stalemate, with the Legion gaining small victories against the Republic. At the same time, knowing another battle is coming, House hires 6 couriers to deliver a chip to upgrade his army of robots. While 5 of them carry dummy packages, the one carrying the real package is ambushed outside of Goodsprings, Nevada by an opportunistic member of House's elite, in an attempt to take House's power for himself. This is where the west coast lore ends. After Lyons dies of old age, he is succeeded by his daughter Sarah. When she falls in combat, the eastern BoS is plaquged by a series of ineffective leaders until Arthur Maxson, the last descendent of the Brotherhood's founder, takes charge. He reestablishes contact with the west and sends several recon teams into Boston to scout for valuable technology.
